Patrick left his traces in Ballina.

At Leigue Cemetery the pre-Romanesque Kilmoremoy Church was built on the ruins of St Patrick’s original church and adjacent to this cemetery a series of stones from the Bronze Age stands. The largest of the stones bears a motif with a circle and a cross, it is said to have been carved by St Patrick.

Also, on Killala Road, the Shrine is dedicated to St Patrick and here, according to tradition, he baptised a local Prince Eochaid and first preached on his visit to the area.
