Strandhill in Sligo on the North East border of Mayo
Strandhill, located on the Wild Atlantic Way, is a beautiful coastal village situated at the western base of Knocknarea on the Cúil Irra peninsula, 5 miles west of Sligo town.
This seaside resort has miles of sand dunes and large Atlantic waves, good enough to draw surfers from all over the country. Strandhill boasts world-class golf links and hot seaweed baths.
As a backdrop to the village is the towering breathtaking cairn of Knocknarea with Queen Maeve’s tomb at its summit.
