Hidden away from the activity of the town below it, the Abbey Walk, leading up to the friary, is a place full of beauty and peace.

Little butterflies flutter in the air, the occasional fish leaps from the stream and jumps back in, making a ripple in the water, and bumblebees buzz and hop from flower to flower.

If you want to escape from the bustle of the busy town of Ballyhaunis, the Abbey Walk is a beautiful place to go, to relax and take in all the splendour of nature. There are so many beautiful flowers and ancient trees.

Along each step, there is a different thing to see, whether it is the wonderful coloured butterflies, the buzzing bumblebees, the peaceful stream, the multicoloured flowers or the old trees that each have a story to tell.

So, next time you are in Ballyhaunis, make sure you visit the beautiful, quiet Abbey Walk.
