Balla is located 14 kms from Castlebar, 14 kms from Claremorris and 24 kms from Ballinrobe.

The entrance to the Golf Club in on the Mayo Abbey Road - across from the Childrens Playground.

Green Fees

Green fees are welcome at Balla Golf Club and the current rate is euro10 per round. Your green fees include a cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit after your game.

Membership runs from January to December.

Societies

Societies are always welcome at Balla Golf Club. Reductions for groups can be discussed. Refreshments available by arrangement.

Competitions

Competitions are held every weekend for members and prizes are awarded to the top three men and the top three ladies in stableford and strokeplay competitons. A gross prize is awarded for strokeplay competitions also. There is a special prize for the top youth player each weekend. Team competitions may be held occasionally with prizes for the top three teams.

The President's and Captain's Prizes are the major events of the year and are usually held in June, July and August each year.

A number of Cup Competitions are run throughout the year - Balla Cup, The Broderick Cup, The O'Brien Cup and The Junior and Senior Scratch Cups.

There is also a Golfer of the Year competition held throughout the year with winners of the Strokeplay competitions getting points over 8 competitions - for both ladies and men.

An Open Week takes place in early August where both members and non-members can participate to win some wonderful prizes.

During the long evenings, on Wednesdays, a three ball scramble is played amongst members.
