Roundstone in Connemara
Roundstone, in the heart of Connemara, is one of the oldest fishing villages on the West Coast of Ireland. It is very well known for its arts and culture. The picturesque and stunning area around the village was painted by famous painters such as Paul Henry and Jack B. Yeats.
It is an ideal base to explore the wonderful Roundstone Bog, an area of international importance for the habitat and rare wildflowers. Not far from the village there are two unforgettable beaches at Gorteen Bay and Dog's Bay. The whiteness of their sand is rare in Ireland.

Nowadays Roundstone is also very well known for being the centre of Bodhran, a traditional Irish drum, production.
