National Heritage Week
August 2020
The National Heritage Council launched the National Heritage Week to showcase the best of Ireland's Heritage. It will take place all around Ireland from 15th August to 23rd August 2020.
County Mayo will organise a wide range of events which due to Covid-19 and related restrictions will explore a topic associated with this year’s theme – ‘Heritage and Education: Learning from our Heritage’. The most of the projects will be online such as a videos, podcasts, interviews or oral history recordings.
Only small events, e.g. an exhibition of photographs or material, will be organise depending on restrictions on social gatherings.
Mayo people proudly will make any efforts to share, enjoy and promote with everyone their sense of place and the natural and cultural heritage.
