One of the best Belmullet town features is the tidal pool located on Shore Road in the water of Blacksod Bay.

It was built in 1984, is approximately 20m long, and is filled by high tide water.

It has two sections: a shallow section for children and a deeper section for experienced swimmers. It is accessible by ladders.

In July and August, swimming lessons are available, and the Lifeguard is on duty.

This amazing outdoor pool celebrates 40 years.

On Saturday, July 20th, the people of Belmullet, swimmers, lifeguards, swimming instructors, and committee members will celebrate this mark.

People are invited to share newspaper articles, photographs, memories and thoughts they may have about the tidal pool over the last 40 years.
