Christmas is coming and Mayo’s towns and villages are getting ready to celebrate. Many Christmas Fairs and Markets will bring a truly festive atmosphere along the streets decorated with Christmas lights.

Stalls will be fully packed with ideal gifts to buy for everyone in the family. Knitwear, jewellery, stone craft, traditional crafts and artisan foods and more will be on sale.

Here there is a list of the most popular Christmas markets where it is possible to shop and have fun while doing it.

Ballina

The 2019 Mistletoe Market will take place from Saturday 30th November and to Sunday 1st December in the Military Quarter, off Pearse Street and beside the Market Square from 12 pm to 7 pm.

It is a European Style Market where the decorated stalls will showcase all their best local traditional crafts and artisan foods. It will be a feast for the senses!

There will be live music and Christmas cheer with local choirs and musicians and Santa will wait for children in his Grotto.

Ballycastle

Ballycastle Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Saturday 16th November and Sunday 17th November 2019 in Ballycastle Craft Shop and Resource Centre.

Belmullet

The Belmullet Christmas Market & Festival of Lights will take place on Saturday 30th November 2019.

Christmas Lights will switch the Holiday Season on; there will also be Street Artists, Music, Blessing of the Crib, Choirs, stalls and lots more.

Santa, Mrs Claus and the Elves will kick off the event. This year the Spectacular Fire Show and the Festive Train are back again!

Swinford

The 2019 Swinford’s Annual Christmas Market will take place from Saturday 7th December to Sunday 8th December at Swinford Cultural Centre.

A tremendous variety of handmade products will be on offer including locally produced foods, home baked cakes and a large variety of handcrafted. A perfect one stop shop for Christmas presents.

Foxford

Foxford Crafts Fair is one of the biggest and well known Christmas markets in Mayo.

It will take place from Friday 6th December to Sunday 8th December 2019 at The Foxford Sports and Leisure Centre beside Foxford Wollen Mills.

It will offer a variety of high-quality handmade products ranging from ironworks, wood crafts, seasonal foods, glass craft, jewellery, Christmas decorations and paintings.

Knock

The 2019 Knock Christmas Market will take place on Sunday 8th December from 11am to 4pm. There will be more then 30 stalls on two floors. It will be a wonderful day for all the family.

Ballinrobe

Christmas Celebration will take place on Saturday 30th November and Sunday 1st December in Ballinrobe at the Library.

The "Santa Experience in the Library” will be packed with exciting entertainment such as Live Crib, Face Painting, Carol Singing, Mulled Wine and Kids Christmas Crafts.

On Sunday afternoon there will be the Christmas Lights Tractor Run including also the Kiddies Tractor Run.
