Foxford Goat Fair
May 2016
The Foxford Goat Fair will take place on Saturday 14th May.
The origin of this fair goes back several hundred years when a man, called John Bingham, was allowed to set up a market and four fairs in 1683. Only this fair passed down through the centuries.
This event was the place where farmers could buy and sell goats, but nowadays it has become an attraction for many where horses, fowls, vegetables, delicious baked bread and wares can be bought from traditional stalls.
This traditional old style fair is a day out where people from Foxford can return, meet and join in the festivities.
Also visitors can have a go at fishing in the famous River Moy, well known for its best salmon all over the world.
