Christmas is coming, and Mayo’s towns and villages are preparing to celebrate. Many Christmas Fairs and Markets will bring a truly festive atmosphere along the streets decorated with Christmas lights. Stalls will be fully packed with ideal gifts for everyone in the family to buy.

Castlebar

The 2024 Castlebar Christmas Market will run from Friday 6th December to Sunday 8th December from 1 pm to 8 pm. Collector Lane and Bridge Lane will turn into a magical festive market.

Local artisans and entrepreneurs will showcase their high-quality products. There will be art and craft ideas stalls, local made food stalls and tasty hot and cold food stalls to enjoy on site.

Newport

The 2024 Festive Christmas Market and Christmas Lights Switch-on will take place on Sunday 8th December from 4 pm to 7 pm in Newport.

Santa will be present and switch on the Christmas Lights. The streets will be full of stalls loaded with gift ideas locally made by artists, bakers, knitters, jewellers, and candle makers. Music and carol singers will liven up the Christmassy atmosphere.

Crossmolina

North Mayo Heritage Centre will host a Christmas market in Enniscoe, Crossmolina, on Saturday, December 14th, and Sunday, December 15th, from 10 am to 4 pm.

Wonderful, locally made products including food and gift ideas for all the Family will be on offer.

Music and Christmas lights will cheer up the atmosphere.

Foxford Christmas Fair

The 2024 Foxford Christmas Fair will take place over the first weekend in December, from Friday, December 6th, to Sunday, December 8th.

The event will take place at the Foxford Sports and Leisure Centre. Talented local crafters will sell their artefacts at craft stalls. There will also be Santa’s Grotto and an array of family-friendly activities.

Balla

Balla is ready for the 2024 Santa Experience on Saturday 7th, December from noon to 5 pm.

Santa will arrive at 11:45 a.m. Arts and crafts will be on offer, and a special tuck shop will be laid out. Later in the day, there will be the turning lights ceremony and the Tractor Run for adults and kids.

Claremorris

The 2024 Christmas Lights Switch-on will take place on Saturday, 24th November, in Claremorris.

The annual Winter Market will run from 11 am to 5 pm. in the Town Hall.

The Claremorris Musical Society will sing Christmas Carols from 5 pm on the Square.

The Christmas Switch-on will take place at 6 pm, while a Tractor Run will start at 6.30 pm.

Easkey

The 2024 Easkey Christmas Market will take place on Sunday, December 15th, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the Easkey Community Centre.

Over 35 stalls will be packed with local artisans’ crafts and delicious treats.

The event will support Easkey Meals on Wheels, Easkey Community and Enniscrone and Skreen Communities.

Swinford

The 2024 Swinford Indoor Christmas Market will be held on Saturday, November 30th, and Sunday, December 1st.

Killala

Killala Christmas Market will take place on Saturday, 7th December 2024, from 5 pm to 7.30 pm.

Santa and the elves will be in attendance in the grotto, and the Christmas Lights will be switched on.
