The 2023 Astronomy Week will take place from Monday 20th, March to Friday 24th, March.

Mayo Dark Sky Park and Newport Astronomy Club will host the following events.

• 20th March 11 am-” Tour of the Solar System” by Declan Holmes at Ballycroy Visitor Centre, Wild Nephin National Park.

• 21st March, 7 pm-” Women in Dark Skies” by Teddie Hwang. It is an online event.

• 22nd March 8 pm-” Dark Sky Tourism” by Georgia MacMillan and “ Spring sights in Astronomy” by astronomer Ronan Newman at Petersburg OEC, Clonbur, Co. Galway.

• 23rd March 8 pm-” The Wonders of Mayo’s Night Sky” by Brian Wilson, Astrophotographer with Newport Astronomy Club at Newport Hotel.

• 24th March 8 pm- “Dark Sky Walk” led by Georgia MacMillan starting from Brogan Carrol Bothy Letterkeen, Wild Nephin National Park.
