Ballycastle/Belderrig Development Company in Co. Mayo
The company, which was set up in July 1995, is community based with its main aim being to 'establish or support initiative directed towards the generation of enterprise for the benefit and welfare of the Ballycastle/Belderrig area'. The company maintains affiliation with Moy Valley Resources in Ballina. A number of projects are being followed up by the company which include:

a feasibility study of 'The Shambles' site for future development

provision of an industry in the area

developing water based activities with a hostel

provision of a camp site

getting tourists to stop in the town
- updating local tourist information
With money generated from running a local lotto, the company purchased a building in the town in 1997 and this was refurbished with help from FAS workers and others.
The building, which is called Ballycastle Resource Centre was officially opened in June 1999. It houses an Art & Craft Shop/Tourist Office, playschool, meeting room, offices and a kitchen.
The company has a number of sub committees responsible for various aspects of community development.
