Foxford enjoys the happy advantage of being built along the banks of the River Moy, one of the best-known salmon fishing rivers in Europe. It is a very popular destination for all fishermen and anglers who come here each year to fish for salmon, trout, pike and perch in the waters of the Moy and also in nearby lakes Conn, Cullen, Derryhick and Levally.

Golf is another attraction in the Foxford area with several championship courses within easy reach of the town.
